From an earlier, now closed, thread:

"I hear Northern Rail have purchased the Allerton TMD site, in preparation for the electrification of lines in area west. Anyone got more on this ?"

Passing by today, I noticed that vegetation was being removed from around the tracks furthest from the Allerton chord by mechanical diggers.

Due to be the home of the 319s when the wires come, along with a new depot at Guide Bridge. It's supposed to be open by the end of the year and I'm told it will undertake some servicing of 156s.
