Day 3, Monday 31st May, I started early today, 05:49 (Cross Country) formed of 3 car 170619 from Nuneaton to Peterborough (07:10), this service is 05:19 (1L26) Birmingham New Street through to Stansted Airport.

Next up at Peterborough was 1S04 (06:30) which is a London North Eastern Railway service from London Kings Cross to Edinburgh. Departing (07:18) from Peterborough. Today Azuma 801217 was the unit arriving at Newcastle 2 minutes late at 09:42.

I had 59 minutes to wait to board (Cross Country) 1V56. Originally, I planned to board this at Edinburgh but today I took it from Newcastle. 221137 arrived as 1V56 and this is the 07:48 Glasgow Central to Plymouth service and I planned to do the section between Newcastle (10:41) and Bristol Temple Meads (15:34). No delays gave an arrival at 15:30.

Next up from (Great Western Railway) Bristol Temple Meads was 1A27, 16:00 to London Paddington, unit 802003 (That might be the wrong unit number) which looked very new did the trip. A red signal stop at Bath Spa and time taken for passengers boarding caused an 8 minute late departure, the platform was absolutely rammed with passengers waiting to board. A busy trip ultimately resulted in a 5 minute late arrival at London Paddington at 17:41.

Using the Bakerloo Line to Oxford Circus and the Victoria line northbound to London Euston gave me a nice arrival with a few minutes to spare for the 18:11 (Avanti West Coast) 9K39 service to Crewe. Pendolino 390124 gave me a very slow trip following a line of trains along the 2 track railway all the way from Wembley Central to Bletchley. I alighted at Milton Keynes Central at 19:20, 7 minutes late.

Using Tracksy I knew that my final train of the day was just behind 9K39 which was 1U47, 18:20 London Euston to Crewe (West Midlands Railway), scheduled to leave Milton Keynes Central at 19:26 also 7 minutes late. Which arrived at Nuneaton at 20:07, 5 minutes late.

Mileage for the day 807.90

Nice distance!

Your GWR train, if it was a 5 car train it will have been either 800003 or 802003 if that helps.
