Another signalling issue at Waterloo this morning affecting platforms 1 to 10.
Are there general reliability issues with the signalling at Waterloo or is it simply just a case of these things happen no matter what one does? There seems to be a lot of issues on the South West Trains routes of late but it could all be coincidental.
The member of platform staff on platform 11 at Clapham Junction was really nice and apologetic. Even had a laugh with him. Just what one needs when being delayed. Lighten the mood.
As my Southern train to Clapham Junction was 6 minutes late I didn't bother seeing how the trains were doing. Big mistake. Could have got a late running 8.19 to Surbiton but didn't. In the end I caught a Woking service to Surbiton which was 25 minutes late and is being further delayed on route, no doubt by trains being terminated short. Currently stuck outside of Surbiton.
Will be delayed by over 30 minutes but South West Trains don't do delay repay so it doesn't matter. South West Trains will get compensation for the delays from Network Rail of course, even if passengers don't. However it's not compensation that's required but the reliability issues to be fixed, if indeed their are general reliability issues at Waterloo.
If there no general issues then fair enough. These things happen. No technology is perfect.
