Not sure if anyone knew this already, but I've just heard from a Leicestershire Buses representative that the 129 route is going to be moving to Arriva in 2 weeks and being renamed LC16 (though I'm just trying to find the information online as they said it would be to be sure of the details)

Heard this too, I previously posted about it in the Diamond East Midlands thread.

Anyone know why Arrival buses haven't been tracking today? (They do track on the Arriva app)

Oh cool, I'll check out that thread too, I might make a trip on the route next week before it passes over to Arriva.

And yeah, I forgot to ask about that, I was wondering if the arriva buses weren't tracking for anyone else either, I don't know why that's happening today (and other Arriva services in the West midlands seem to be tracking fine)

When I went for the 48 earlier today I noticed it showing the depart times and not in "X Mins" for arriva but others were okay.

Found this post on facebook:

According the MPs post, the arriva 129 (LC16) is getting an altered timetable and the 125 is being extended (with Diamond) until 14th July.

Hopefully arriva can take on the 125 too and thus promote the links to Bradgate Park better than at present.

Arriva Midlands North did seem to be tracking, though there seemed to be a lot of delays in the data feeding through to bustimes.org, a lot that I looked at last tracked 5+ minutes ago.

Wonder if these are from the Yorkshire batch that were in Leicester? Some of these have been repainted and have gone to (afaik) Telford depot.

It looks like Arriva Midlands buses have just started tracking again a bit over an hour ago, but with missing data for the time between Sunday and today

Arriva have announced the introduction of four new services on behalf of Leicestershire County Council:
We are delighted to announce we will be running 4 new routes on behalf of Leicestershire County Council (LCC). From 2 June 2025 we’ll be introducing services LC14 and LC16:

LC14: Hinckley – Sapcote – Stoney Stanton – Fosse Park [new service]
This route will run several journeys each day on weekdays and Saturdays. It will also serve Aston Flamville, Sharnford, Broughton Astley, Cosby, Littlethorpe, Narborough & Enderby Park and Ride.

LC16: Ashby – Osgathorpe – Shepshed – Loughborough [formerly Diamond 129]
This route will run several journeys each day on weekdays and Saturdays. It will also serve Lount, Newton Coleorton, Peggs Green, Griffydam, Belton and Nanpanton.

Then, from 14 July 2025 services LC12 and LC15 will start.

LC12: Witherley – Atherstone – Market Bosworth – Measham [formerly Stagecoach 7]
This route will run once in the morning and once in the afternoon on weekdays. It will also serve Fenny Drayton, Ratcliffe Culey, Sibson, Carlton and Newton Burgoland.

LC15: Coalville – Stanton-under-Bardon – Markfield – Newton Linford – Anstey – Leicester [formerly Diamond 125, curtailed to Coalville]
This route will run several journeys each day on weekdays and Saturdays. It will also serve Hugglescote, Ellistown, Markfield Court, Glenfield & Glenfield Hospital. This means there are now even more buses along Groby Road in Leicester.

These routes are open for all customers. Single, returns and our range of Arriva passes & app products are also available to use on these services within the respective boundary areas.

LC14 seems like a rehash of the old 148/X55 service but seems like it will miss out Thurlaston.

LC15 (125) will only run Leicester to Coalville but does have an improved frequency just in time for the summer holidays for Bradgate Park travellers although the timetable looks very tight.

Arriva have announced the introduction of four new services on behalf of Leicestershire County Council:
The LC12 journeys are what was Stagecoach 7 until Friday, this service is, according to Leicestershire, being continued free of charge by LA Travel from today until 14 July when the Arriva service starts. Presumably the rest of the service, with its school holidays link to Twycross Zoo, is simply being abandoned.

The Diamond 125 continues until 14 July, then the section from Coalville southwards is being taken over by the Arriva LC15. What about the service between Coalville and Castle Donington - is this simply being abandoned as well? Maybe to DRT - good luck with that!
