The buses don’t seem to be in a good condition … many times I’ve been behind a bus where the driver cannot accelerate after stopping. Most recently it was a Pulsar and the driver couldn’t accelerate onto the roundabout. Gearbox problem?

Being in a poor condition is a side effect of carrying the Arriva logo.

Does anyone know where the Arriva Derby Omnicities have ended up? Many were sold/for sale through the now closed Birmingham bus works.

No they weren’t, Birmingham busworks advertised many Arriva vehicles that they didn’t actually own, whether that was them jumping the gun or crossed wires all the OmniCitys/OmniLinks will be going for scrap.

3513/14 & perhaps 3515 when Luton are finished with it seem to have a chance of further service with buslink, 13 arrived a while back & 14 sometime this week.

when Centrebus had the trio at Hinckley they were great on the X44/X84 (Leics - Rugby) route.

Got a few years left in them yet.

Well maintained Scanias will go on for years, the L94/K230 seem to be extremely reliable, just a shame they seem to suffer from the front/rear end sagg, as do many Scanias

Them Scanias would’ve kept going, the only major disadvantage to them is the rear sagg which isn’t just an Arriva issue.

Give me an omnicity or link over an ADL, Streetlite or Pulsar anyday.

The rear sag effected most of the Omnilinks at Tamworth, even internally it was very apparent on a few of them.

Internally, some looked like they were being held together with metal plating that had been riveted to the walls and floor.

If they are all sent to a scrap dealer there is a chance they still get purchased in tact if they are still runners.

Some of the Vdls must be not far off scrap. I assume that is why some of the Omnicities still remain, perhaps the better of the bunch.

There has been mention of another e400 or two joining the Derby fleet. Can anyone confirm/deny this?

It's becoming very apparent that Arriva's fleet strategy is akin to rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic as it sinks...

The only place for an ADL or a Streetlite, is a scrap yard. Had a ride on a Yutong electric today. Very impressive. I can see why people are buying them. .

Many of those Pulsars are less than a year newer than the Scanias they've replaced. Derby really needs something new soon. As I said before, they can't shuffle around Pulsars forever when some of them are already heading for the scrapyard!

4420 might be at the older end of the age range, but it does look smart on the outside.

If it helps, I know that 3576 YT09 ZBY had its MOT renewed after leaving Derby by a company in Leeds ... might be knocking around that area. Can't find an operator though but will continue snooping.
The rest have their MOT expired or have been withdrawn with a few months left on their MOT.

I was reading their year-end results and the company said they have a “disciplined and focused financial approach”.
I don't think buying new buses when they can run old ones into the ground, is compatible with a “disciplined and focused financial approach”.

Hope they got rid of that back-to-front Sapphire headrest downstairs!

I don't envy anyone who gets these ex-Max buses!

More 72-plate MMCs at at Coalville presently: 4562 was on the 16 today, and 3145 has initially tracked on the LC16 and later on the 29.

Have they been maxed out then?

I’ve noticed route 4 in derby has had a full allocation of deckers for the last couple days per Bustimes. Is there a reason for this?

So residents in Alvaston can experience being rammed into a single decker.
For a few weeks they have been allocating a couple of deckers to the 20/26 to cope with capacity issues at peak times,in part due to the reduced 30 minute frequency (from every 15).

Do the alvaston routes always need deckers. Since 1b was added there are buses every 10 minutes on some sections of the route.

Fair few people on the 2 now, via the railway station. I guess it gives more connectivity. Maybe some connect to the Royal at the station
