It depends on what type of Priv you have. If it's endorsed for first class travel then you'd be able to do that.
Yes its valid in first, I took my 2 grandchildren to London to visit the natural history Museum a week or so ago for that price (each), also gets them in the lounge at Euston.
Then its free travel on buses (I have a bus pass) and free for them on the underground (priv Oyster for me) so cheap day out all round well except for buying food in the museum.
