I'm not sure if it's been posted before, but I was on a refurbished 9 coach 390 this morning, and I noticed that they have added Red/Green lights next to the seat reservation displays, similar to those on the IET's. This don't remember this being the case on most of the 11 car 390's I've travelled on - is this a new feature that will get rolled out?
The new display is currently being fitted to 11 cars at Liverpool

It appears to me that this is just the addition of two three-colour LEDs and doesn't involve replacing the actual reservation display

Was there not something about seat occupancy indication lights, so you could tell where the empty seats are in a carriage?

It's probably so that when the 805s / 807s come in, the seat reservation system will look the same throughout the fleet.

Yes, that's what the LEDs are for. But the text display is still the grey-on-green LCD, it has not been replaced, the two LEDs have just been added at the side of it.

Except it won't (though it will have the same functionality).

Anybody know which unit is currently at Widnes please?
My last record was 005 going in but that appears to be back in service now

Has 390001 departed Widnes now? If so, does anybody know when? I'm starting to wonder if my siting at Widnes on Friday was actually 390011 and not 390001 based on what is on RTT

I think your siting was 011 based on this movement on RTT - looks like it's been in and out and at Edge Hill for final few fittings.

You probably didn't notice, but you can tell 001 and 011 apart by their name plates - 001 has a yellow name plate (Bee Together), 011 has a red name plate (City of Lichfield).

001 is out on the 0525 Liverpool to Euston service currently.

390001 departed Widnes just before midnight on Friday night (19/01) with 390011 arriving in the early hours of Saturday morning (20/01).

I doubt they can plan that far in advance. It Only takes the next planned set to fail on Friday afternoon somewhere and they'll need to reshuffle the order.
