Many including myself remove them and stick them up on the overhead rack. They're a waste of time.

Agreed. I also remove the headrest immediately and velcro it back into place when I vacate the seat. I didn't realise they were so easy to remove and had one continually sliding down onto my shoulder from King's Cross to York last year.

I do find the first class IET seating comfortable from a personal perspective. Particularly when I'm working on my laptop, it reminds me a bit of my office chair...
