Wonder if anyone can advise. The above 00 gauge loco was a fairly recent issue by Bachmann I believe, and someone I know (who is profoundly deaf) was interested in same, but I missed it arriving. From what I can find out, is it correct that there is only a DCC sound version, and no analogue version has been made? Thanks in advance.

There were both analogue (DCC Ready) and DCC Sound Fitted versions of the initial three main range models released. Details here:

There was also a limited edition variant in Somerset & Dorset Railway lined blue produced, also in both analogue and DCC Sound versions, for the Bachmann Collectors Club at the end of 2020.

Thanks sprinterguy, appreciate you responding. Looks like I may have missed the boat for my mate (no point in having a 'sound' based version when one can't hear anything, at a premium price to boot).

No problem - Yeah, they seemed to get snapped up pretty quick. Shorter production runs seem to be the direction the model manufacturers are moving in these days.

I'm not sure whether Bachmann might be planning on a second batch; The first certainly sold well so you can but hope; but for the time being I think the best strategy would be to keep an occasional eye on the second hand market.

Thanks for that Iskra, a saviour indeed. Not a name I had heard of I must admit.
