I notice, bar the first one, all services to/from the seaside (or at least the coast). How many of those services exist nowadays :'( ?.

Plenty of services operate to the seaside. The Spanish seaside, the Portuguese seaside, the Greek seaside...

That train was the one and only time I had 47008. One of only 21 Brush 4s that I only had once (apart from the 8 that I never had at all).

008, 011, 093, 112, 122, 159, 193, 225, 275, 284, 292*, 296, 303, 304, 314, 328, 334, 338, 361, 375, 381.

*also had in preservation since

You did well to miss only 8! I missed rather more than that, of the 47/0 and 47/3 varieties, although I did have all the 47/4s..... But, thanks to the preservationists, I can still cop the occasional new one, such as 47376 in 2022.

27014 0605 Carlisle-Glasgow C (from Stewarton)

I changed at Stewarton (single line at the time), rather than Kilmarnock, to make sure I caught the return train, being on the way home after a night shift...

I was on this from Oxford to Brum. Had only had it once previously, from Scarborough to York.
