In recent news there have been two 37s on circular Barry training runs trailing 5 or 6 wagons (025 & 116) as reported by wnxx.
Does anyone know what these training runs are in preparation for?
Where are the locos stored between duties?

I think its crew familiarisation of the class 37. The loco's are based at the Barry Tourist Railway. Only 37025 is there at the moment, 37116 worked back to Washwood Heath today.
Thanks Aws87024, but what I'm trying to understand is why they are familiarising a route specifically with 37s from Barry? What service (old or new) in this area now requires a 37?

I don't think it's any particular working, but it gives Colas more flexibility if drivers in that area sign the 37s they are regularly using on test trains. The route is just a decent length, circular run for driver training.
