Hi Everyone,
Just wondering how long Bittern will be running as 4492 'Dominon of New Zealand'
Can anyone tell me?
Please help,

For the n ext three years until overhaul
Why did the owner of the A4 decide to change the name & also to keep it looking like that for 3 years..?
Maybe after it's overhaul it will be re-named after another long gone A4 loco.
They could've just just painted it as blue as 4464, but I think the chap wanted it to represent one of those that were used on the Coronation.
"Bittern" does seem to be suffering from a long term identity crisis.
As mentioned in my post above, indeed she did, though I don't think that she ever left the paint shop with the Osprey nameplates affixed, before she emerged to the public as "Union of South Africa".So Union of South Africa has been renamed once, but I think that rename is okay as Union of South Africa starter her life as 'Ospray didn't she?
You have no idea...
"Union of South Africa" carried its' originally intended "Osprey" 'plates from 17th April 1937 until 28th June 1937, but it never left the paint shop while in this guise; 4489 "Dominion of Canada" was the only one of the quintet to be seen in public wearing it's pre-Coronation name, "Woodcock", from April 1937 until 15th June 1937.Most of the Commonwealth locos had diffrent names before being named to the Comenwealth Collection. I'm not sure how long they went by these names for though.
