I've just published a new post on the Island Line. However there's a picture (from Wikiwand) which shows an eight car VecTis unit (Class 484/5) it has an extra driving trailer sandwiched in the formation. Have been puzzled about this - if anyone has any idea whats going on it would be great to know.

I'm not convinced that's eight tbh, a 4VEC should have a DM at each end - looks to me like a pair of 3TIS with a spare DM, quite a common formation it seems?

049 Ryde Pier 14-7-79

A more recent repaint to unit 049, which looks quite smart. The application of a yellow end to the control trailor in second place seems to suggest that it could still be used as such.
