Blue hat question/guidance

Hello all im new to the forum and needing some help and advice regarding getting taken on as a bluehat i am 2 weeks away from getting my pts and tic and nvq lvl 2 i track engineering aswell as some tickets(rail saw, rail , drill, cobra etc..) plus some tickets i allready have MEWP, boom etc..i live in sheffield but drive so job location is not an issue im 31 and have been on mainly construction sites since 14 doing steel fixing, drywall or any other job available when needed im wanting to know the best route to go down to get the blue hat off agencies/companies/ or anyone looking to recruit on here ;) im not scared of graft and getting stuck in and dont really mind what i do or travelling to job locations im just wanting a chance to work my way up my aim is to get on the welding side of thing if possible eventually but dont mind doing anything else in the mean time, so advice/help from you guys allready in the know would be appreciated, cheers james

Have you tried emailing the contractor companies who carry out the rail work or even NR themselves with a covering letter and CV?

Could you name a few please and what is NR?

NR is Network Rail!!

And sorry, but if you have been doing your NVQ and are about to get your PTS, surely you have been doing some research into who and what is involved in the trade you want to enter?

Yes i have allready contacted network rail and the firm im doing it through but obviously there are lots out there that i wont have heard of either ivw got some agencie number to call once the card comes through but more the better
