I've tried all combinations of splitting tickets and most work out a few pounds more expensive than this.
The only one I can find which is cheaper is by splitting at Saxilby, where this will save you all of 5p!

I'm puzzled by the request (how will you get to Boston and how are you getting back? ) but if all you require is a single between those points I don't see how you can lower the price.

one way to do it is saving 25p, buy an anytime single boston to mexborough, and just get off at doncaster..

cost £18.30

valid via grantham, and catch hull trains or east coast to doncaster. and just get off at doncaster, saving yourself grand total of 25p..
