A 16-year-old boy has been charged with the manslaughter of a man who was allegedly punched in the face outside a Derbyshire railway station.

Ambulance crews were called to Glossop Railway Station in Norfolk Street at 17:45 GMT on Saturday.

Kenneth Stott, 63, from Hyde, Greater Manchester, was taken to Tameside Hospital but died in the early hours of Sunday.

The teenager, from Hadfield, is due before Chesterfield Magistrates later.

A 58-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman, arrested in London on Monday on suspicion of assisting an offender, have been released on police bail.

An inquest into Mr Stott's death was due to be opened and adjourned at Chesterfield Coroner's Court on Tuesday.

We have been saying the Station and the immediate locality have been dodgy (to say the least) for years but saying that the last few months there has been a marked improvement, shame this has happened

Is nearby Hadfield any better from your experience?
Hadfield is a bit better but not much as now they have proper cctv the trouble is the ones who cause most of the problems go between Glossop-Hadfield-Glossop most of us won't go out between Hadfield and Glossop due to all the hassle we get with the very short journey time there is just no point, and don't even mention the BTP, nearest ones are based in Manchester
