Hi there
Thanks for your message regarding the street to seat trainee driver project. That role has now closed as we had over 5000 (five thousand!) applications to process, and as you can probably imagine this gave us some challenges in selecting candidates from such a large applicant pool.
Unfortunately on this occasion your profile hasn't been selected, but please keep an eye on our web site for the next time we run this exercise again in 2025. Thanks for your patience, and may we take this opportunity to wish you and yours a very merry Christmas.

I messaged on the 4th December just asking whether there was an update.
I handed in my notice today in my main job, have just had enough of it. Got a plan C to work with for now but hoping for some luck to come my way soon. Keep on trying.

I got the below response on the 2nd Dec. I sent the c2c recruitment team a email asking for a update.

As a quick update on where we are on these vacancies, we want to inform you that there has been huge interest in these positions and we have received several thousand applications over the past few weeks. I’m sure you can understand that this has given us quite a challenge to be able to review, assess and respond to everyone that has applied, and has stretched our systems to capacity.
We are working our way through the list of applicants, but as I’m sure you can appreciate, this is taking quite a while. We will endeavour to get back to you with an update as soon as possible, but in the meantime please bear with us.

Afternoon all, thought I'd join in on this thread as I too have applied and intersted to see how everyone else is getting on.
Likewise I have not heard anything further and I am currently at "Web Applicant" status. I made contact with them back in November and much the same as everyone else got the e-mail back to say they were still processing large numbers of applicants.
I'm hoping to hear something soon as the more I think about this career and look into it, the more I know it is what I want to do.
Fingers crossed we hear something soon. I'm sorry to those that have already had contact back saying that they haven't progressed further. Hopefully further vacancies come out for you.

Looks like I'm in the same boat. Sent an email seeing if there was an update or if I'd missed anything dunno getting loads of marketing emails.

Yeah, I did the same. It appears that if you ask for an update then you get knocked back. Strange thing is that I currently drive the trains that they are going to be bringing into service.
As they said they've had thousands of applicants. Sifting through them all - let alone any other recruitment ongoing - will take a considerable amount of time.

I know you’ve already tried, but confirm you’re definitely typing your email in correctly. It’s weird that they would do such a thing to an account without any confirmation.
Just saw this article, looks like this drive has finished. I do wonder with the lack of replies if they plan to re-advertise for the next group or reuse this current pool of applicants.
