Problem: The game wont play.

Clicking on play within EA download manage does nothing at all.
Double clicking on the program icon within the games folder I get the busy
cursor for a few seconds and then nothing.

I have tried run as administrator and run in compatability mode of XP SP3
and it still won't play.

That is why I asked if there was a patch so I can play the game in windows
7 ultimate 64bit.

Hi there,

I looked through the Windows 7 compatibility section and it does say Rail Simulator will not work with Windows 7.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/co...&uid=&pf=0&pi=0&s=EA Rail Simulator&os=32-bit

I will however see if there is a solution for you if no one has found it.

You may also want to contact the users in this thread who have said it works in Windows 7 for more assistance.

As for EA Support, they are useless I don't suggest using them again for help.

RailSim was designed and released before Win7, so its not guaranteed.

RailWorks however is actively being progressed by its developers, and so should officially support Win7 soon. While it does run on Win7 already, it isn't officially acknowledged.
