Can I claim back my tube fare?

Hi Everyone,
I wanted to check with the experts on here before I complain and then find out that I was wrong.

I went with my other half and daughter from Slade Green to Guildford for a wedding this weekend. Travelling out on the Saturday and returning today.

Due to engineering works on Southeastern there were no trains running into Waterloo East or Charing Cross.
So I looked at the map and decided the best route to take on the Saturday was Slade Green to London Bridge, hop on the Jubilee line to Waterloo and catch a train from there into Guildford.
It all sounded such a good idea...well until we got to tube gateline at London Bridge where our tickets wouldn't work the barrier - The member of staff there pointed out that our tickets clearly stated Via London but not London Underground written on them.
I was 90% sure that the Thameslink programme allowed journeys on the tube between certain stations and particularly as there were no trains to Waterloo East anyway.
I left by wife and daughter in the booking hall area and went outside London Bridge and phoned up Southeastern - who helpful as ever told me that I would have to buy a seperate ticket to go from London Bridge to Waterloo or use an Oyster, So I told them that I had bought a through ticket from Slade Green to Guildford I didn't expect to have to purchase a seperate ticket to use the tube. I was told that I could use the tube from Cannon Street but that's not much use to go to Waterloo.

So as time was running short and it was obvious that I wasn't going to be able to win as my ticket did clearly state not valid on the Underground that we used our Oyster cards to go to Waterloo.

But I'm still sure that I'm right and should have been able to use our tickets on that section of the tube but I wanted to make sure before I make myself look silly.

(On the return trip went via Clapham Junction, Victoria and Dartford to avoid any fiasco)

I've checked our internal engineering work acceptance bulletin for last weekend, and we definitely had acceptance in place, so you should have been passed through by the gateline staff at London Bridge.

I'm not 100% certain if that ticket would 'normally' be accepted through London Bridge though; the information I've got in front of me suggests not, but I'm not too clued up on the 'south of the river' agreements, just those for stations from Farringdon northwards...

Email or phone TfL customer services and they'll sort it out without too much trouble.

I am sure there is still ticket interavailability in place for Thameslink between London Bridge and Kentish town. And the Northern Line. It's why tfl staff passes can be used on the Thameslink between London Bridge and Kentish town.

Staff passes are valid because of a separate agreement; not all Interavailable routes have staff pass validity and not all routes with staff pass validity allow normal tickets.

You are right that there IS Interavailability from West Hampstead to London Bridge/Elephant but this is not where the tickets are routed Not Underground (or similar), except during certain engineering works.

Would it make a difference if the ticket was for London Bridge or Charing Cross ?

If you have a ticket for London Bridge then once you arrived at London Bridge then the ticket is finished. If you had a ticket to Charing Cross then it would be valid on the underground for onward travel. Similarly if your ticket was for Waterloo then it would be valid for onward travel via the tube.
