Life's too short to examine everything. Nothing wrong in being superficial as long as you acknowledge it and recognise there are others who know a hell of a lot more, and respect them for it. Unfortunately, that's not in tune with the zeitgeist of the age.Unlike most other subjects where there are key principles that can be applied in a range of situations, history is just too big to cover everything. You either just touch on the main events at a very superficial level or you zero in on certain topics but basically ignore everything else.
