I've recently been asked to complete a checking test for a Gateline position. I did my first practice and had 8 wrong answers, not sure if this would be considered a good result or not. I was wondering if there were any techniques or advice I could practice in order to improve my results. Any feedback and questions will be appreciated.

I’d prioritise accuracy a bit more. With a lot of these tests you are told to work as quickly and accurately as possible. Quite often that may mean in the interests of correct answers you aren’t finishing the tests. I’ve passed a fair few assessment days for railway positions now but with some exceptions it’s actually quite rare to ‘finish’ an individual test. However what you are doing is ensuring that you make as few mistakes as possible on the ones you do complete.

Work on accuracy first and then look at speed.

I second what Mattydo has said above. For every assessment i've taken online and in person, accuracy has been the vital part.
