Hi,
The validity map of the Cherwell Valley Day Ranger (http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/times_fares/pr323b6f4ef649f0a1637491d6ae3cfb.aspx) shows that it is valid between Oxford and Bicester Town. However, it is also valid on 'on Great Western Railway services only'. This is slightly paradoxical, since the only the only services to Bicester Town (now renamed Village) are run by Chiltern. It also seems, from looking at former threads, this part of the map has present for at least 7 years.
On further research, this is probably because the line was formerly run by the Great Western franchise, only becoming a Chiltern route in 2011. My question is given the fact that this has not been corrected (i.e. the map hasn't been amended) would it theoretically be permitted for a passenger on the ranger to travel on a Chiltern service to Bicester, given it is the only possible way to use that part of the ranger (which is clearly shown on the NR site)?
TIA
