On Saturday and Sunday 17 - 18 March 2018, we will be raising the roof with another diesel spectacular. With four or five locomotives operating each day hauling a good couple of hundred tons up our 1 in 68 inclines and with a 'loadex' as the finale - you’ll get the full music of the selected locomotives!

We are also offering cab rides on both of our Gala days - Details are available on our website.

Subject to availability, the starting line-up includes:

We are also expecting a visiting loco from West Coast which either be a class 33, 37 or 47.
As our rail connection won't be ready until later in the year, we are providing a FREE BUS LINK in the form of a vintage London Routemaster between Princes Risborough and Chinnor Station, to ensure all can make our Diesel spectacular - we have been in touch with our Driver Chris (01.02.2018) and he has generously suggested a revision to the bus timings to allow for an extra service for those arriving from further away - see below for revised bus timetable. At both stations the bus will leave from the station forecourt at the times shown.

There will also be several cask ales from Loose Cannon Brewery on offer - we cannot have a diesel gala without a few fine beers - can we? The ales will be Loose Cannon's Rogue (Highland Red Ale) and Abingdon Bridge (smooth malty notes with a balanced hoppy finish). Delicious!

Please note: there will be no steam locomotive running and only our vintage diesels will operate over this weekend - therefore there will be no steam heating in our carriages, but should the weather be stacked against us... our Cambrian Café will be serving plenty of hot coffee and tea, plus hot bacon and sausage baps, all at our usual moderate catering prices
