For any super enthusiast insomniacs , the first working of a 185 in
passenger service will be the 0622 Man Piccadilly-Hull on Tuesday 14th
March. (The public timetable shows 06.21). It will be a 6-car train.
185s will then be introduced progressively on Airport-Cleethorpes and
Airport Barrow/NW with all 51 sets in operation by the end of 2006.
Some testing runs are taking place to Hebden Bridge but not sure which
route.

Although in theory the 185s will replace all TPE 158s there is a view
that there will not be enough units, particularly if they operate many
6-car trains, so watch this space.

And I'll be driving one!!!!!!

Definately lucky you then!

Also please make sure you don't programe the dest display wrongly, incase I jump on a 158 to Liverpool instead on plat 14 :P (even though you should be in a bay platform)

Would've been easy for me to get there from Blackburn/Preston area, but it's pretty anti-social hours for me..

Roll on 185s, although I've still not jumped on a 350 yet  (Although I want to squeeze one in next month on a Coventry to Preston Std Open sgl one Saturday)

I can always get a late ATF service to Crewe, change for a Northern 323 via Manchester Airport (hopefully, I only need that one side of the triangle!) to Manchester, arrive with a few hours to score off some more stock and any late night freight.
