Ah OK thanks, so are you saying basically that no such website exists? Can we find out earlier than the day itself what a unit is doing so we can plan a day out??

Correct, no such site exists.

Train operators often don't know what units are doing that day until the evening before and that is subject to change overnight depending on maintenance requirements.

There are a few staff apps with individual logins that tell you allocations but they're on a need to have basis as they also provide information like who the train crew are and passenger assistance but again they only tend to be current once you get to the early hours of the day when the data is input.

We often don't find out ourselves until it comes up on trust/TOPS or Genius. Even then the allocation may well be made quite late on in the morning depending on maintenance requirements etc

Not anymore. They've pretty much all gotten fed up of silly kids constantly asking for unit numbers and now refuse to hand out any such things.

I had hoped they'd put it on the Glasgow 185 diagram today, seeing as it's spent the first week on South and North TPE routes. The 0457 Piccadilly - Glasgow would've been ideal to get the new look into Scotland.

I don't think they can just put it on whichever diagram they feel like. I think it's based on the mileage of the diagram in relation to fuel, maintenance, reliability of the unit, where it needs to be at the end of the day etc.

Suprised the unit is sitting in depot given we are a 350 down and two Anglo Scottish services are short formed today as a result. (One 3 vice 6 and one 3 vice 4)

With Liverpool - Norwich split and the west leg moving to TPE, maybe a use for doubled-up 185s?

Why didn't the goverment allow a 4th carridge to be added To the 185's? Some trains would only need 4 car train? Beyond belief.
