Why not use the wcml for the test runs?
Shuttles to preston and back would easily clock up the miles.

From what I've heard the first 3 of each class have to do 1500 incident free miles and the rest of the fleet 500 miles. They will be tested up the WCML between Carlisle and Crewe. Things like door tests can be performed on depot. With the technology these new trains have they can be programmed to open and close their doors a 1000 times while just sat on depot. How many miles in total are the Accumulation runs? Usually its something like 1000 miles of fault free running? Thats a lot of trips up and down between Edge Hill and Ditton!

I imagine each subclass so 4 car 331, 3 car 331, 3 car 195 and 2 car 195. The first 3 of each will have to do 1500. If there is a fault at 1300 miles it resets the clock and they have to try again.Well from Railmiles dot me, it is just over 140 miles each way so four 'legs' (two trips) would generate over 500 miles and six trips would be well over 1500 miles. Quite easily done. Assuming that it's incident free.
Is that the whole class or each subclass that has to run the higher mileage?
It's not FHH drivers, it was Northern doing there own testing and commissioning.Would it not be FOC drivers doing the fault free mileage accumulation. GBRf are doing it for the IEPs, and FHH are doing it for CAFs TPE units, I wouldn't be surprised if FHH were doing the northern units as well
Don't read too much into that reason, it was confirmed internally yesterday that testing wasn't going to happen today, the wording being 'watch this space'.All of the workings were cancelled "due to a problem with the on-board safety system".
Don't expect anything to run this week....Appears to be running tomorrow on RTT?
Any confirmations?

The first of our brand new trains has entered testing! 195103 was waved off from our Edge Hill depot just a short time ago. Keep your eyes peeled and be sure to share your snaps with us if you spot it out and about! https://t.co/C2WUKWOrAy

I love that the immediate replies are "WELL THAT'S NICE BUT WHEN ARE YOU REPLACING THE PACERS??? EH? EH? EH? BET IT'S NEVER"
I don't have a Twitter account, but if ever I'm feeling like I need some mild amusement (while waiting for a delayed TPE service for example) I take a look at Northern's Twitter replies... comedy gold, much of it!I love that the immediate replies are "WELL THAT'S NICE BUT WHEN ARE YOU REPLACING THE PACERS???
