Class 321 ECML Mainline Services

Asking on behalf of a friend - does anyone know when (and for what reason) Class 321's ran mainline services from Yorkshire to Kings Cross? They can recall it happening, but can't remember the details.

The MK4 coaches were taken out of service for safety checks following a derailment at Sandy.

Lots of emergency traction including 317s to York.

I think the incident was similar to the ICE derailment were the bridge collapsed on the train.

Yes that would be the Eschede disaster. I must admit I had been lead to believe that the safety checks were prompted by that disaster rather than the result of a derailment in the UK.
