Take some of this with a grain of salt but just been told by someone who knows people and revealed on FB:
Heads up - 321 lovers be prepared. Multi units will go next week so little mainline use after that. Branches for a little while longer but likely all 321s gone by end of April…
I won't be surprised if this is true, considering the constant stream of 720s entering service.

It’s valid gen but branch work still involves workings to Liv St. But no-one could possibly rate the bent ones anyway surely.

People like all sorts. Personally, I don't like the refurbs. My last run to date on a bin was on 321901. I'm happy with that.

I'm afraid it is true the 321s are going solely to Walton branches so the staff were telling me today, as of Monday- a 321 unit is ready for the scrapheap the 0634 from Colchester To Clacton has failed en route the past 2 mornings front unit lost internal power yesterday as i was in darkness, and at Thorpe nobody could get on or off., then they rebooted and it still wasn't happy. This morning it failed again in power throughout including speed at Wivenhoe and did 5mph until Great Bentley- we were lucky to get up the incline or it would have been long recovery. Poor units showing its age. I'll miss them excellent heating excellent air con comfy enough for a short ish commute or an hour

With 321329 on front. 321303 on the rear. However on Wednesday 08th February 2023. A Twitter Tweet by Richard clinnick has announced 5 more are gone. However a few very nice members of staff at Anglia have told me at Clacton next to be decommissioned and should go shortly are 321313 and 321323. However what are the other 3 please I am thinking one is 321316 at Ilford E.M.U.D but only my guess.
However any other information on the x5 321s which only got stored last week is much appreciated. Thank you..

An informed one.

I thought it was the end of multiple unit and mainline 321 operations?
That is my understanding too.

Single unit 321s remain diagrammed on the "branches" - Harwich / Walton / Southminster - "until April".

I also understood that this last week just passed, there was only one main line diagrammed 321 duty anyway - 8car all day including 10:18 LST Clacton.

The emphasis is diagrammed. On paper. Make of that what you will.

The gen I had was 321 main line diagramming ended Friday just gone (10/02) - although I have seen other people quoting 17/02; I myself have no idea which is right.

you could always use RTT and work it out ?????
How? It doesn't give any information about Greater Anglia services, and the 1018 goes to sidings on arrival at Clacton.

I suspect the best bet is to look at the diagrams upthread to see which were the remaining 321 services, and cross off any that have changed since.

https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/class-321-322-withdrawal-updates.212237/page-60#post-6025272

At that point, it was just the 0523, 1018, 1752, 2048 and 0006 from Liverpool Street that remained 321s.

It looks like there is effectively a two-day cycle for the first four of these services, and the up service that goes to Ilford depot in the morning peak. The final one comes off the Southminster branch.

The 0523 and 1018 are on a Ilford CS to Clacton CS diagram. The other up service, 1752 and 2048 are effectively on a Clacton CS to Ilford CS diagram with a break at Ilford during the day.

Which is the last part of the diagram and, and the rest before it backwards work-out-able from RTT using platform workings; the data is there; so my answer was correct.

1F46 (17:52 Liverpool Street - Witham) and 1F58 (20:48 Liverpool Street - Braintree), are formed of 720513 tonight. Both of these services were 321’s last week, so looks like the transition is underway.

Does anyone know which 321 unit today worked 5N94 1100 Ilford E.M.U.D to Clacton csd depot Monday 13th February 2023. It appears another 321 might have gone to Clacton for store/decommissioning. Any further information is much appreciated for the 321 on the above mentioned movement.
However does anyone have a list of the current 321s in Store or active in service status please. Last week Richard clinnick twitter said 15 in store.
But more than sure this has changed in the Last day or so.

Many kind thanks. Tallys with a op post elsewhere up here about one going off lease. On Monday 13th February 2023.
Yes. 321316 now at Clacton for decommissioning with 321313 and 321323 which arrived last week.
Thought 321316 was already finished at Ilford E.M.U.D. Because 321316 had not actually ran in passenger service since Around early to Mid December 2022.
and was due to move to Clacton anytime. Suspect until May the Sidings at Clacton around the depot will become a short time busy place with quite a majority of 321s end of life at Greater Anglia. Before removal to Wembley or possible Simms Newport?
