Just witnessed a class 334 at Glasgow Central’s Low Level and wondering how it even got there as the 334’s are meant to be exclusive to QST LL now aren’t they not.
Just wondering if anyone has any clue, I’m guessing due to current distruption at Patrick and Dalreoch the trains are out of sync but other than that I’m out of guesses.

(Uploaded a pic of the train just for the sake of it)

No they work some 2Fxx Cumbernauld/Motherwell - Dalmuir and 2Cxx Milngavie - Motherwell/Cumbernauld services.

I’ve quite often got one from Central low level heading for Bearsden so not exclusive to Queen Street

Ahh didn’t realise that thanks, I figured they were only operated on Edinburgh-Helensburgh/Milngavies services, along with a few springburn services as well. I knew they operated the central’s high level pre Edinburgh-Bathgate line was re-opened but that was the first one I’ve seen LL

There’s a Whifflet bound 334 passes through Central LL around 9am every day. I always assumed it was a traction knowledge retainer for Motherwell depot

Does it terminate at Whifflet? Very interesting if it is

Remember them on low level services through low level back in 2004. It's a rarity for them to go into high level now.

When the Lanark services ran through LL, were they not 334s?

To be fair in 2004 I was 3 turning 4 so thats probably why I can’t remeber seeing them ahaha
Also that I barely use Central, only the high level a handful of times and low level not that much more

Last year during the Rutherglen block a pair of them ran into Glasgow Central in the peaks. They did Cumbernauld-Hamilton-Glasgow Central, then a round trip to Newton. In the afternoon peak they worked one of the trains to Carstairs which ran from Central instead of Anderston.

As for High level , must of been 2011 when they stopped regularly using it.

334's can also pop up on the peak time Carstairs services too. The 17:00 from Anderston can be a 334 fairly regularly. One of the morning ones from Carstairs to Garscadden flings up a 334 on it too.
