Is anybody able to explain the glare problem?
They don't use platform monitors...Would this not be an issue on 700s as well?
Cool, I thought it might be that - all is in the cab? They don't use platform monitors...
Did you experience any difference at DOO mirrors? Or were they not part of the movement? As the original poster has stated, the treatment has been carried out on two units thus far on a trial basis to prevent glare against DOO monitors.
365511 & 539 are the two units. Had the privilege of working them off of Hornsey into King’s Cross with 524 in the middle of the consist.

OK. Thanks. Sometimes it's good to hear these sort of things from the drivers, as it gives you a good idea of how the units are perceived by those who operate them!Unfortunately not part of the movement for me to make a comparison. However, I did have two 365’s earlier on today and the glare at Knebworth was rather quite bad, but apparently this has been a long standing issue which is now being rectified, the colour blue which features on the doors was allegedly considered but infringes with DDA .
If i get the units next week, I will cast my observations.
some left over FCC purple wrap?Is there a significance of the purple instead of - say, black? At least considerations have been made to keep the angles of the livery.
my guess is probably because its a 'known' good colour as it comes from a previous livery, rather than risking something different and it not working? Is there a significance of the purple instead of - say, black? At least considerations have been made to keep the angles of the livery.
Looks like it's just the alternative colour from the blue in the Great Northern logoIs there a significance of the purple instead of - say, black? At least considerations have been made to keep the angles of the livery.
It’s the Great Northern purple, same colour as in the logo.Is there a significance of the purple instead of - say, black? At least considerations have been made to keep the angles of the livery.
I'm pretty sure the logo has different shades of blue, but that will turn into an argument such as whether the FirstGroup livery is purple or dark blue. It’s the Great Northern purple, same colour as in the logo.
Whilst clearly the colour is, to any right thinking person what it says in your spoiler, the branding guidelines name the "purple" "FirstGroup Blue" (page 16). But then that same page calls the pink "FirstGroup Rubine Red", which shows that as ever corporate branding people live in a very weird world unlike the one we inhabit.I'm pretty sure the logo has different shades of blue, but that will turn into an argument such as whether the FirstGroup livery is purple or dark blue.
It's purple.

Have you driven this unit yet? If so was there any difference?
Sorry for the lack of update, I've not driven a 365 since I had the pair a few weeks ago, was supposed to last week but was moved off my booked turn to cover 700 & 717 work. I have 365's on Saturday Night & Sunday Morning so hopefully, I get at least one of those units to share my comments.
