Is there a list anywhere of which services on the Waterloo to Portsmouth route via Basingstoke are normally 444 or 450.

In particular can anyone tell me what units are normally booked for the evening services out ot Waterloo
16:09
16:39
17:09
17:39
18:09
19:09

I presume most will be 12-car Class 450s but would like to know which are Class 444s.

Most are not 12.450 - and contrary to media complaints that's not the case on the the Portsmouth direct either really.

We had a good thread on it a few weeks back, this is the post you need, from thefab444:

I'd be very surprised if anything has changed with the new timetable...

Very good. Thank you both for the information.

I would also be interested in knowing the Waterloo bound formations in the mornings (07:45 to midday from Portsmouth Harbour via Basingstoke on Mon-Fri) if you have it.

Thank you

I find a good way to tell is to look at the timetable and see if there's a trolley service - 450's wont, but 444's most likely will. It works for me anyway!

450s do have a trolley service, at least the one I was onboard via the direct line did, or do you just mean 450s via Eastleigh dont? :)

Trolley services are provided on many workings booked for 450s.

Also worth pointing out that in the evenings there are connections at Winchester for Fareham off of the 15:35 and the 18:35 Waterloo - Weymouth services.

It seems that way I think, but possibly only because the 'via Eastleigh' Portsmouth services (and the Poole stoppers) generally only have trolleys shown in the timetable at weekends, and they are also nearly all 444s at weekends...

But having said that I've been on a number of weekday 450s with a trolley service without it appearing in the timetable...
