They make the occasional appearance on the SE Metro, both as booked and sometimes substituting for one of the other 465 sub-classes. Not sure how often the latter happens now but the 1704 Sevenoaks - Charing Cross had a 465/9 leading on Saturday evening. The same applies in reverse, especially during disruption when certain routes with First Class end up producing a /0/1/2...always wonder how many people ever notice ;)

Your best bet would probably be the half hourly Charing Cross - Tunbridge Wells service (Monday - Saturday) or head over to Victoria where they can be found on a scattering of services down to Ashford/Canterbury/Dover/Gillingham. If it's a Sunday, they had (or did have ) just a handful of booked workings from Victoria, most of the Canterbury East services I believe. All subject to change, however. Happy hunting!

The half-hourly services to and from Tunbridge Wells (Monday- Saturday) currently start from Cannon Street, I think. They are usually class 465s, I don't know about the subclass, sorry! Sometimes they are Electrostars, but usually class 465s.

Not anymore, they were diverted there when Charing Cross services were not stopping at London Bridge. Charing Cross services started calling at London Bridge again at the beginning of the month - so they have reverted to using Charing Cross.

Indeed, rather annoyingly for us commuters!!

Some still do the Victoria - Maidstone East/Ashford services, but shared with Class 375 stock

A lot do turn up on Metro work as previously mentioned

In my experience the majority of these services seem to be networkers, not always 465/9s mind.

They seem to crop up a fair bit on the Vic - Dover Priory services.

There is also a morning service down to Ramsgate via Dartford, which seems like a long journey in a 465 of any kind!

I'm told that's the only 465/9 service down to Ramsgate. It must be operated by a Gilly or Faversham driver as Ramsgate don't sign them.

Thanks for pointing this out! The only times since the change I've come back from Cannon Street outside the rush hour have been on the 16:22, which has swapped the other way.

Personally i much prefer the 465/9s to 375s. The seats feel a bit more comfortable. And they have better motors.

Interesting, do you know what time? I know through the Summer they extended one of the Charing X - Gillingham's through to Ramsgate but didn't realise it was still running.

Echoing swt class 450, always prefer a 465/9 (or /2) over the 375 as well - you can't beat the sound of those motors ;)

In summer the air con on the 375s is much appreciated!! However this is probably a discussion for another time.
