Indeed, I was aware they were all originally allocated to Toton Depot, thank you.
However what I am hoping to figure out at this point, is whether they all remained allocated to Toton for their UK based working life - or if they were allocated elsewhere at all?
As far as I know the 58's were always allocated to Toton TMD apart from when driver training on the class was required then they were allocated to which ever depot required one, at Saltley we had 58024. Incidentally we used class 58's on the Longbridge to Swindon car part trains just before privatization.
When Saltley (An RfD depot, the last sector of BR)was taken over by EWS we had 58006 as a "Route Leaner" loco for several weeks between Saltley ,Toton the Erewash, Doncaster and York,we also had 56007 on the same roster !
And on several occasions we were called on to rescue "Virgin Cross Country" express trains due to failures with their class 47/8's.
I also personally drove 58004 on a Sunday teatime train to Paddington (Manchester to Paddington) alas 58004 failed at Birmingham International and a replacement loco was sent for when it arrived it was 58014,and to save time both locos went forward in multiple all the way to Paddington !
