Why would they be put in two different liveries? That seems rather illogical.
Well on the Charing X via Woolwich Arsenal - Gillingham line we don't have any dark blue trains. I'm not sure what trains go down to Sevenoaks so maybe they are white as well but the final design is blue. So maybe you are right and we will only have one livery.

Not really - remember SWT had not one but three separate liveries, EMT have 3, current SE have 2 etc.
Ah yes, but they were for different service groups on other TOCs. Southeastern only have one current livery (all over blue). The 465 livery isn’t a “metro” livery it’s the old brand, hence why 375609/624/705 also had that livery applied. Since 2014 all over blue is the company livery.

Not that this will matter for much longer anyway.

Don’t leave us hanging with that final sentence!

They might not get either livery yet. There may be a Great British Railways livery that may supersede all TOC liveries.
Although that is several years away yet because the whole thing needs primary legislation.

It generally lives inside the shed but was shunted over to make space for other units.
Do you or anyone else know if enough of them arriving is the reason unusual stabling places have been used recently? Examples being having 707s sit in the Sidcup turnback siding and 3 Networker units (2x465 and 1x466) recently using the long dormant Beckenham siding. Chart Leacon I believe is still 2 years away from being able to stable any stock.

The three units in New Beckenham Siding (466006/465247/913) are stored there until further notice. No more 707s have arrived, but it will no doubt have helped free up space.

The dark blue actually first appeared in 2009 when the Javelins were introduced. Back then it was a different 2 tone dark blue with bubbles - the timetable booklets at the bubbles on as well.

The new dark blue livery with light blue doors only seemed to make an appearance on the refurbished Electrostars though. Later the word eastern was changed to Cyan, matching the background colour of text boxes on the website.

Sidcup siding was used recently because of the derailment at Grove Park depot which took place at the shed.

@DA1 is correct regarding the 707 in Sidcup Sidings. As to the number of units. The next arrival isn't due for a couple of months.

707003 & 006 broke new ground on Wednesday Morning working 5Q23 00+05 London Bridge to Hayes (stopping all stations along the way) & 5Q25 03+16 Hayes to Grove Park CSD

Last night similar workings ran but this time the return portion stopped at all stations along the Hayes line.

Thanks for the update, I guess this is more to do with train to platform interface then driver learning?

It's been to Hayes and back before ( a couple of weeks ago)

Neither stopped at Ladywell.

There is still some new ground to be broken but a fair bit of the Metro network has seen a 707

I read on a YouTube comment that the 707s are 'confirmed' to be refurbished; is there any truth in this (as unlikely as it is)?
