Someone emailled me the picture. The one in the SE magazine is a digial mock up of the dark blue livery and there is a decent photoshop on twitter. I personally prefer the white/blue as it fits in with the rest of the fleet.
So which is the livery they're likely to wear? Given they'll regularly be alongside 700s at London Bridge, they ought not to have a near-identical look to Thameslink 700s. I know the yellow area is wider and there's an extra stripe down the bottom but they will still look very similar.

I have no idea. The SE mockup in the mag is in the dark blue livery which really doesn't fit with anything metro based. Is there a basic livery underneath the Red SWR vinyl wrap ?

That suggests post#246 last Sunday was very much right after all then? Change of operator in P24 at Waterloo...
Yeah, I always knew it was going to be done that way, it’s identical to when Southeastern recieved the two 377/1s & all the 5s. SN operated/timed Selhurst to Victoria then SE to Ramsgate.

Unfortunately the red is paint although it could be vinyled over.
Ive been constantly saying that liveries in the old NSE area should be uniform to avoid expensive paint jobs and confusion. Commuters dont care what colours the trains are as long as they are clean and tidy. I know its boring but it makes so much sense

Isn't it the case that it just happens that since the blue livery was adopted none of the metro stock has been repainted?

I wonder if they might repaint them into the old Connex livery? That's after all what the 376s have and they'll share their routes with those.

I actually prefer that, plus it's actually the current brand. On the other hand, anything but red is either going to be an all-over vinyl which tends not to look too great after a while, or a costly repaint.
I remember that in the early days of privatisation somebody asked why Chiltern weren't repainting their class 165s into a new livery like several other TOCs, and their answer was that the trains came with an 8-year warranty on the paint so it made sense to leave it alone. Perhaps South Eastern will take a similar view about the 707s and just stick their name on the side.

They don't really need repainting this early into their life I agree, but full body vinyls tend to have a pretty short lifespan before looking rough around the edges. Leaving them red with southeastern branding would be better as I'm assuming they're probably not going to bother redoing the interior, but that 'artist's impression' suggests otherwise.

Do Stagecoach Group have to be OK with them running around with their branding on for a different TOC?
I assume they'd have granted SWR some kind of short term license to use it, so that they don't have to rush around repainting trains that are going for scrap, but does that extend to Southeastern? Or is the design generic enough after having the SWT logos removed that they can't claim the rights to it?

At the very least, the SWR stickers will have to be taken off, if the 707s have them.

The word Stagecoach was not actually used in the branding - and the South West Trains name was owned by DfT. AIUI from earlier discussions this is why the SWT name was never removed prior to the TOC changeover day. The overall livery does use Stagecoach “house colours”, as do the 455 and 456, but I wouldn’t expect any sudden change, as reduction to the plain red they were delivered in is probably easily done by removing the orange and blue vinyl over the plain red.

Likely won’t be on train services out of Victoria due to the eight car platforms fouled by longer trains at Brixton
And more critically Herne Hill.

They could be used on the Vic-Dartford services though as they are equiped with SDO and they won't foul any junctions on at Denmark Hill, Peckham Rye or Nunhead.

It's absolutely routine for trains to continue in their existing livery until convenient for the adopting company to change it (until recently, Northern was a positive menagerie of liveries, though I understand it's improving). As the trains are (relatively) new, I'd guess Southeastern will paint them fairly quickly into their standard livery.
The SWT/SWR stickers will be long gone by the time they carry SE passengers, I'd guess - Angel Trains will see to that, if SE don't.

Christ. I hope not - a huge waste of the capacity.
