Class 73 Electro - Diesel Locos

I have just been going through some digitised slides and have images, shown below, of a naming ceremony at East Croydon Station. I think this took place in 1983 but can't be certain. The loco number is also a mystery to me.
Is anyone able to fill in the gaps for me please? Thanks in advance.
