Couple of questions regarding the class 92s.

1) Are any still used in France (as in beyond the tunnel)?
2) Anybody know the current stored whereabouts of 92020?

Thanks

I dont believe they've ever operated beyond the tunnel in France, as they arent fitted with french signalling (KVB) - though GBRf do, or did, plan to have it fitted.

92020 is a Europorte 2/GBRf machine now, so is probably either stored at Crewe, or at Brush Loughborough for return to service.

I think they can only go to Frethun yard

As far as I am aware they can only go as far as Frethun yard as the French drivers have "blacked" them.

In other words they refuse to drive them as they (the French) have concerns about the crashworthiness of the 92's cab..

Now had the 92's been made in France out of paper and glue there would be no problem.. They would be safe! (in the French eyes anyway)
