Noting the guidance in the preamble, could we clarify whether the closed stations on the South Wales Railway at Briton Ferry (1st), Margam Halt, Pyle (1st) and Stormy can be counted when we come this way again?

It is all dependant on whether or not those stations do in fact meet the stipulation requirements appertaining to the rules of this quiz, though a query has arisen in that whilst a feature of this line was called Stormy Bank, I cannot trace a station there.

Margam Halt is in an unusual situation when one considers the lines that led to Margam Knuckle Yard and of the actual line position where that was situated.

Briton Ferry (1st) and Pyle (1st) seem to be covered by the nuance inherent in Rule 5 of the quiz. It may be worthwhile to read the "Guide Note Section" that follows on from the normal rules of this quiz, as there is a very specific mention of how Rule 5 has been the subject of query over the years on this quiz.

However, two other first stations are allowed on that line.....Skewen (1st) and Llansamlet (1st)

GUIDE NOTE SECTION.....RULE 5 CLARIFICATION.
In response to recent PM received by me with regards to rule 5 shown above, the matter of the more deep and learned railway station historical knowledge of railway stations, where different sites were involved, NOTING THE COMMENT CONCERNING DISTANCES, it is hereby agreed that postings with the knowledge of such matters that state for example, all three of the locations on the closed Long Eaton stations, both the locations of closed railway stations at Waverton on the Crewe and Chester Railway and at Port Dinorwic on the Bangor and Caernarvon Railway WILL be allowed.

However, noting the very large numbers numbers of relocations that are actually covered by Rule 5 that have so occurred and indeed have been made the subject of a recent thread on this website, it is up to contestants to make a decision as to whether they wish to make such a posting or not.

It seems an opportune time to show this Guide Note section that follows on after the rules of the quiz.

Hard to visit this place without thinking about the 439 miners who died at the Universal Colliery (a stone's throw from the station) on 14th October 1913. The worst mining disaster in UK history.
