My records show that a railway station at Greenan Castle was shown on some historical records of the Scottish Archives, but I am unsure to its validity in connection with this quiz, so I ignored it for this journey. RAILSCOT only describes it as a goods yard

We next move to England for the next journey.....

This is number 268 in the series so far.....

The journey starts at the closed station of Wardleworth
It follows the line of the LYR Rochdale to Bacup Line
It then follows the line of the LYR Rawtenstall to Bacup Line
It then follows the line of the ELR Rawtenstall to Bury Line
It then follows the line of the Manchester, Bury and Rossendale Railway
It then follows the line of the Manchester and Bolton Railway
It then follows the line of the Manchester and Leeds Railway
It then follows the line of the Ashton, Stalybridge and Liverpool Junction Railway
It then follows the line of the Huddersfield and Manchester Railway...using the Micklehurst loop line
It then follows the line of the Manchester and Leeds Railway
It then follows the line of the LYR Copy Pit Line
It then follows the line of the East Lancashire Line...using the Great Harwood loop line
It then follows the line of the Lancashire Union Railway
It then follows the line of the North Union Railway
It then follows the line of the Warrington and Newton Railway
It then follows the line of the Birkenhead Railway
It then follows the line of the Chester and Birkenhead Railway
The journey ends at the closed station of Birkenhead Woodside

The first closed station on this journey is Wardleworth
