A typical commuter-belt part of north-west England
We next move to Scotland for the next journey.....

This is number 1887 in the series so far.....

The journey starts at the closed station of Langholm
It follows the line of the BUR Lagholm Branch Line
It then follows the line of the Border Union Railway....via Riddings Junction
It then follows the line of the Border Counties Railway...via Saughtree
It then foloows the line of the Newcastle and Carlisle Railway...via Warden
It then follows the line of the MR Settle to Carlisle Line ...via Scotby
It then follows the line of the "Little" North Western Railway...via Settle Junction
It then follows the line of the Bolton, Blackburn, Clitheroe and West Yorkshire Railway...via Newholme...note 1st and 2nd stations
It then follows the line of the Blackburn, Darwen and Bolton Railway...via Blackburn Bolton Road
It then follows the line of the Manchester and Bolton Railway...via Dixon Fold
It then follows the line of the ELR Clifton Junction to Bury Line...via Molyneux Brow
The journey ends at the closed station of Withins Lane

The first closed station on this journey is Langholm
