I was scrolling through the TfW Twitter account whilst looking for something else this morning.

Somebody asked on and update on when Dolgarrog station would re open. The reply was they don't know and don't have any information currently. Theu will update when they do.

I thought they may have had an idea or even a "the end of 2019" or "early 2020" as a reply. I didn't think such a lean to style platform would take so long to replace.

I imagine that the people to ask would be Network Rail, TFW will resume using it when available.

There's been another rockfall in the tunnel north of Blaenau and the line is partially closed again. Services have been cut back to Betws-y-Coed, apparently. More news on the Daily Post's website.

They were only working in the tunnel earlier this year. Should it not have been tested through out for any weak / lose areas?

Getting a bit farcical now

National Rail Enquires suggests North Llanrwst.

Source: https://www.nationalrail.co.uk/service_disruptions/229346.aspx
JourneyCheck says a little bit of both.
Cancellations to services between Betws-Y-Coed and Blaenau Ffestiniog

Due to a landslip between Betws-Y-Coed and Blaenau Ffestiniog the single line line is closed.
Impact
Train services running to and from these stations will be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or terminated at and started back from Betws-Y-Coed. Pont-Y-Pant, Dolwyddelan, Roman Bridge and Blaenau Ffestiniog will not be served. Disruption is expected until 09:00 23/08.
Customer Advice
Network Rail report that a landslip within Blaenau Ffestiniog Tunnel has resulted in large boulders blocking the line.
Train services are now suspended between North Llanrwst and Blaenau Ffestiniog, until such time as the landslip debris is cleared, repairs completed and the tunnel workings made safe.

Additional Information
Road replacement transport has been sourced. Lloyds Coaches (Machynlleth) will operate a bus, as follows:
Betws-Y-Coed to Blaenau Ffestiniog, calling all stops
Blaenau Ffestiniog to Llandudno (Town), calling all stops as far as Betws-Y-Coed, then set-down-only to Llandudno (Town). This will include Dolgarrog station (closed due to flood damage, to be rebuilt).
Further Information
This evening's emergency disruption plan will be further amended for Thursday 22 August and beyond. More details will appear here, once finalised.

There’s a really interesting video on YouTube by a bloke who walked through the tunnel earlier in the year. Shows some of the areas worked on previously and a section of the roof bolted and netted. Might be that section. Worth a look!

Id guess it could have been left behind as they did some work on the tunnel during the line's closure earlier in the year.

All back to normal this morning thankfully

As the line is now open this thread is locked. Any topics relating to wider Conwy Valley Line issues warrant their own threads in the appropriate sub-forums. When the line closes next a new thread will be warranted to discuss that new closure.
