I'm finding it difficult to but tickets for Sunday 13/4 /25 between Coventry and Manchester Piccadilly. The trainline app hasn't got any trains, the National Rail app tells me it can't find a valid fare, that's after crashing several times. I'm aware that there will be a bus substitution because of PWay works at some point on the journey, is the reason this and the Aventi strike?

A quick look at RTT shows no XC trains at all, whereas Avanti have a revised timetable uploaded.

From the Avanti web-site:
The RMT union has announced strike action affecting Avanti West Coast on Sundays from 12 January to 25 May 2025.
To minimise the number of people disrupted, we suspend ticket sales for strike days as soon as they're announced. We expect online journey planners to correctly show our amended strike timetable and our tickets to go back on sale by the Monday before the Sunday strike action.

So it looks like tickets for Avanti trains won't go on sale until the week before.

Is it normal for XC to do this?
It is odd for the regular times to be removed altogether and nothing replace them - I suspect it means they are working on the revised times currently. Also applies 6 April.
Curiously, Avanti have some morning Euston-Nuneaton-Manchesters on 13/4.

There are engineering works on Sunday between Wolverhampton and Penkridge meaning XC aren't running north of Wolves and instead are running Rail Replacement between Wolverhampton - Stafford - Stoke.

Seems to be a regular feature in the timetable now for one of the Manchester - Euston services each hour. I caught one from Nuneaton at the end of October last year.

Yes, every London-Manchester service gained a stop: Nuneaton, Rugby or Stafford. Makes connections to places like Coventry and Northampton easier, previously they were a right pain to get to.

But at the cost of something like 7 more minutes in their end-to-end scheduled running times. They leave London 7 minutes earlier than they used to, but arrive in Manchester at the same times as before.
