Hello. Does anyone know when the last train ran to/from Croft Quarry?

Also, what was the reason rail traffic ceased to the quarry? The tracks are severely overgrown and rusty. Is there any hope that the rail link will be used again at some point In the future?

Thanks.

Happy to be corrected, but I think the quarry is virtually exhausted and it is planned that the spoil off HS2 will go into Croft quarry.
I'm sure someone posted it on one of the threads on here a while ago but I could be wrong.

Pretty sure HS2 decided against it in the end.

I assume that this is Croft in Leicestershire? I am informed the quarry ceased production in 2017 but don't know precisely when the last train ran. Croft signal box controlling the connection closed in 2012 when its function was transferred to the East Midlands Signalling Centre/ROC.
