Leeds have a few links, all links sign all routes and traction but have different rest day patterns -

4 day (usual Sundays outside, long weekend every 3 weeks pattern)

5 day where you get a week of rest days every fifth week but only one rest day in the weeks you're working (plus Sunday if you're not working it)

A hybrid where you get a long weekend every 3 weeks and a week of rest days every so often, but less rest days midweek than in the 4 day pattern.

I think there's only one vacancy for now so you will probably just go where the vacant line is, but you can put a letter in to the LLC on day 1 requesting a move to another link. Link moves are done on order of request not seniority.

Whats normally the earliest start and latest finish, these include starting at Neville Hill or Crofton?

Most of the jobs are messed up at the moment but the earliest book on is usually around 0300, latest off around 0130. Earliest starts involve a trip off Crofton usually

I think the only killer is the start times but other than that with Sundays outside it looks like a good option. Does anyone know how XC compares to LNER out of Leeds in terms of shifts and work content?

From the outside XC looks the better option, albeit the slightly lower basic.
