From what I understand, Crossrail will be taking over the Liverpool St. to Shenfield metro as of 2014, but will be loaning it out until it starts its operation in 2017.. am I right so far?

My Question is this:
If I'm currently working for Greater Anglia now as a trainee driver, and plan to fill a vacancy on the metro service. Will my knowledge of the north-eastern route of Crossrail inherit me a job as a train operator at crossrail? And if that opportunity should come about, why should I opt crossrail over GA?

Second Question:
Am I thinking too far ahead?

All depends how they do it which I wouldn't have thought anyone knows for sure yet.

I would Imagen that x rail will take over part of Liverpool street eastern side depot and part of paddington LTV depot. I believe they normally ask for all drivers to give preference of where they want to go and then it would normally be decided on seniority-so if you select to go to the GE side but the GE depot is selected by too many people senior to you then you may be moved to XR anyway.

Hope this makes sense-as I say I doubt anyone knows for sure how they will work it but as its taking over existing services I would guess they will split up some of the depots.

Surely the depots will be Old Oak on the west, and Ilford to the east? I remember reading that somewhere. I guess this could change of course. I just thought things would be more set in stone now that construction is well underway.

I think he is referring to drivers depots, not TMDs. Not sure if inform has drivers, don't think old oak does though. It depends if they move existing drivers across within depots or go LOROL style and open new depots with new drivers and take work off GE and GW like new cross depot did and is doing with southern.
