Good luck guys. Driver morale is rock bottom among the drivers at the moment, according to some of my ex colleagues. Definitely make sure you join the union !

Breaks are 40 minutes unpaid, but you often get an hour or so ( so anything over 40 minutes you are effectively being paid for). Breaks are at East Croydon or Therapia Lane.- duty dependent.

Thanks for your replies Citycat and Caterpillar. Do you know how long it takes to get onto the full £40000? What the rest day pattern is? And can trams driver drive to work and park at the depot?

Thanks again.

Training is 3 months and full pay when pass final assessment
During training rest days are normally Friday and Saturday
Yes, drivers can park at the depot

Just to add that 90 percent of your actual practical handling of the tram during training will be carried out at night when the system is closed. This is so the training trams don't interfere with the service. Day time training will normally only be carried out on a Sunday.

Hi everyone. I got a start date not long ago and I'm now looking to relocate to Petts Wood. Does anyone know how strict this 40 minute travel limit is? And what it is based on? And if any other drivers live in Petts Wood? On Google maps it ranges from 29 minutes to 39 minutes depending on traffic.

Great, when you starting ?
Petts wood is Orpington way right ? I think you'll be absolutely fine with that :) I know of a couple of drivers who live around that area
I live about 14 mins away ( no traffic ) tho on the run up to xmas and because of the traffic one day it took me bloody nearly an hour to get home lol
