Perhaps biting off too much they can chew, they've taken on a lot recently, and had a period of being a really great company, but it seems to be going downhill somewhat...

Which services aren't running?
Quite a few X18s were cancelled when I visited Nottingham last week.

They're cancelled basically every day now, I highly doubt anyone uses them now and just stick to the i4.

Looking at the cancellations on the website, yes there's loads unfortunately.

In other news an ex-CT4N Optare Tempo is on loan to CT4N from Littles. It's tracking at 1001.

When Derbyshire Community Transport folded, CT4N took over the Travel Derbyshire on Demand service. I know there were a lot of complaints after Hulleys folded where DCC were directing people to use this, but anyone who tried couldn't get a booking for days or even weeks. While the sudden demand spike won't have helped, I wonder how much availability is being affected.

As an aside, I know of at least one person who has cottoned on to the fact that using this service is cheaper than paying for multiple singles or an operator day ticket where two buses are needed to complete a journey. Almost feels like gaming the system, but only works if you know far enough in advance you want to travel to be able to book it.

Ah that'll be interesting,do you think they'll use the BYD's or their own buses
They're taking delivery of some new E400MMCs so you might see them on it, but again all I've heard about them getting the contract is hearsay

It may be the case that CT4N aren't operating the Medilink from tomorrow. They've not said anything, but Central Connect have announced there is a new (unrevealed) (*see below*) operator who will be operating their NHS Shuttle to Phoenix Park tomorrow.
It's our last day operating the NUH Phoenix Park shuttle today. Thank you to all our NHS passengers over the last two years.
15th May was the expected date for the new contract.

Could CT4N have just not told anyone someone else is taking the service over, and tomorrow there will be a new operator?

EDIT: I have found this on the Skills website, showing details of the shuttle to Phoenix Park they are operating, replacing the service referenced above. https://www.skills.co.uk/NUH-Phoenix-Park-Shuttle-Service

No reference to the Medilink basically confirms they aren't operating that. So CT4N could either be keeping it (I hope not!) or another operator will take it over (tomorrow?)

it seems rather odd a service would switch operators mid-week if indeed someone else is taking on medilink

Doesn't Nottingham have set dates for when changes can happen like Leicester?

NCT sort of does, trentbarton doesn't, although they are both always done on a Sunday. This service is tendered by the NHS via the council, so is different to other services in Nottingham. The tender start date stated 15th May.

Looking at the Skills Group website the timetable states its for NHS staff only, so one would assume its not a registered service.

The tender I've seen is for 3 contracts . But you have to bid for all 3. Yes Skills coaches have won the Phoenix park to City Hospital work.

Ct4n accounts are overdue and they just avoided being struck off with companies house in March.

Wow, that's a surprise about Tupe. There's no 'medilink only' drivers so I would have thought they would have been redistributed through the company (who need the drivers!), rather than they transfer! I wonder how many will...

Is there a link to a statement or something?

Not been offered a payrise for 2025. Ct4n said they are waiting to see if they won the Medilink contract. Accounts are overdue. Senior management have left. I can see them going bust.

If they go bust do you know what would happen to the locallink routes?

Ditto for Derbyshire Connect - which they picked up when another operator went bust.

Maybe it's a sign that DRT isn't a viable business model in this part of the country? (Or is it their other operations which are loss-making?)

I can't see any of their operations not being loss-making, except the Nottingham High School contract and hopefully the 18 service.

There was also one in the West Midlands that went belly up.
