I'm on a train from Euston to Milton Keynes and Northampton that set off about 1950. I'm wanting to get to Stoke om Trent and was due to get the 1924 to rugby then change and go to Birmingham international and then cross country from there to Stoke. It's all chaos with everything cancelled. I don't know whether to alight this at Milton Keynes or Northampton, the next train is shown as running from Northampton only but if it leaves on time I won't make it ! Anyone help?

From what I can see, your best bet is to stay on to Northampton, and to immediately try and find the guard and explain your situation to them. The only northbound trains between London and MK appear to be going to to Northampton anyway (they're all 2Zxx), and Avanti services appear to be turning at Rugby to avoid causing congestion at MK with only 2 lines open. Therefore you need to change at Northampton to get between MK and Rugby. Somebody with access to the control log may be able to give better advice.

Realtime Trains States lineside cabling being the issue presumably between Euston and Watford Junction but doesn't go any further than this. I`m sure someone will be along with better info.

I saw a friend onto the 19:54 at EUston this evening. There is a major signal failure at Wembley, looks like the disruotion started early afternoon. The only services showing on the departure boards were the LO ones to Watford Junction. Hand written posters advising passengers travelling to Milton Keynes and Northampton to take LO to Watford Junction and change there, presumably LNR were running a shuttle to WFJ?

As we arrived at the station they announced the 19:54 would be leaving from Platform 8. It eventually left at 20:06. Neither Realtime Trains, Open Time Trains or National Rail Enquiries seem to show any information on this service.

Cable fault between Harlesden and Euston, causing loss of all signalling.

Even London Underground seem to be invoking the doublespeak option in their communication with passengers with their website currently reading:

Bakerloo Line: No service between Queen's Park and Harrow & Wealdstone due to train cancellations.

Absolutely knackered, I’m coming down from Coventry and had to change at Northampton and wait an hour for another service. Arrival into Euston is midnight, a whole 3 hours after I was supposed to arrive.

Will it get resolved overnight or will tomorrow also be a nightmare on the WCML?
Presume it will be done by today, service more or less returning to normal now with 30 min frequency trains on the stopper LNWR services

That's good news that it's fixed

Horrendous day on the south WCML.
Took me 3+ hours to get from MK to London earlier today. Heavily delayed train finally managed to roll into the platform at Hemel and was cancelled there. Lengthy wait for a cab with thousands of others to get to Watford Jct and then a subsequently slow, delayed LO service.

Return journey some hours later not much better with every single service on the boards at Euston showing as cancelled apart from LO. Station announcements were saying that there were 'No more Avanti services this evening due to strike action'. Yet magically, a random unscheduled Avanti service to Stafford calling at MK and Rugby only, appeared and operated despite almost no other services at all moving. Very odd but I was very thankful!
