Given that Exeter received over two and a half inches of rain yesterday, the highest of any official Met Office 'weather station', it's not surprising that nearby Dawlish took a battering too.

But here’s another video from 2012, it looks very similar:

The 24th November 2012 (which by coincidence was my 17th birthday) is the record for Dawlish Water, at 1.32m. Yesterday just missed that with 1.27m.

Hopefully the boffins at the Met Office HQ in Exeter will have anticipated this exceptional weather event! How are things at Cowley Bridge these days- anyone know?

Pretty good. No problems at all recently actually but I shall continue to monitor things. ;)
