Does anyone have problems with reception via a freeview box on their TV?, my television pictures and sound for most tv freeview channes are fine, but the radio which I listen to alot, has regular periods when it keeps cutting out, often when there is something of interest that I am listing to. I have made sure all connections are tight etc and retuned etc, but it still happens. I end using my old trannie or via a Pc where reception is fine. Any suggestions for improvements woudl be gratefully received? Tks.

Are you using DAB or listening through the freeview?

Which TV and radio stations are you having problems with? - as you said most TV I'm wondering if you are not picking up a multiplex* very well.

Have you tried re-tuning your freeview box? Other than that I think there's a free advice line i'll see if I can find the number for you.

Some BBC radio channels are withdrawn from freeview at certain parts of the day - damned annoying when I'm listening to Test Match Special on Channel 706 as that shuts down at 5.00 pm (4.00 pm at week-ends). It could be that.

Are you in an area that still runs analogue as well? If so, your digital signal will not be at full strength until the analogue is turned off.

It's when I am listening on freeview that I somethimes have problems/cutting out, usually Radio 2, or Magic.

Oh that's interesting, we still get analogue until next year I think.

Yes, I have retuned, makes no difference, but I think I understand what the problem may be after reading all these very useful and helpful replies, thank you everybody.

IIRC, radio over DVB (ie. freeview) is lower quality that over DAB (ie. radio).

Might be worth seeing if you can get a DAB radio on try-before-you-buy to see if that also has the same problems. I know personally, the freeview radio can be suffering disruption but my DAB radio will be fine (in fact, can't recall ever having trouble with it)
